The Idea Center at Miami Dade College is a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, offering resources and programs to foster creative business solutions and startup growth. As an educational institution committed to cutting-edge learning experiences, the Center required a website overhaul to reflect its vibrant and dynamic nature.

Sobefy was tasked with developing a new website that not only enhanced the visual appeal and user engagement but also integrated seamless functionality to ensure easy access to the Center's resources and events. The primary goal was to create a user-friendly, visually appealing site using a modern WordPress theme, optimized for performance and interactivity.

Our role in this project.

The full service we are offering is specifically designed to meet your business needs.

Tools and Technologies Used

  • WordPress: Chosen for its flexibility and ease of use, allowing for a robust content management system.
  • Elementor Page Builder: Utilized to design a custom theme that offers intuitive navigation and a responsive layout, ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices.
  • Custom Plugin Development: A tailored plugin was developed to fetch and display events directly from Startup Tree, ensuring that the most current and relevant information was always available to the site’s visitors.

Design and Development Process

  1. User Experience (UX) Strategy: Sobefy began by mapping out the user journey, focusing on minimizing clicks to important information and ensuring that the navigation was intuitive. The layout was structured to promote engagement and easy access to educational resources, events, and entrepreneurial support.
  2. Visual Design: Using Elementor, the team implemented a clean, modern design with interactive elements to make the website not only functional but also engaging. The design was aligned with The Idea Center’s branding guidelines to maintain consistency in visual identity across all platforms.
  3. Custom Plugin Integration: The custom plugin developed for event management was a crucial component of the website. It allowed for automatic updates of events from Startup Tree, providing a dynamic element to the site that keeps users informed of upcoming activities and opportunities.
  4. Testing and Optimization: Before launch, the site underwent rigorous testing to ensure compatibility across all devices and browsers. Load time optimization was a priority, given the media-rich content and interactive features of the site.
  5. Launch and Feedback Incorporation: Post-launch, Sobefy monitored user interactions to identify any usability issues and gather feedback for ongoing improvements.
